Ingredients for making Lauki Kofta Curry Recipe
Bottle gourd (Lauki) – 400 grams / 1 medium size
Gram flour (Besan) – 3 Table Spoon
Garam masala – ½ Tea Spoon
Red chili powder – ½ tea spoon
Salt – as per taste
Oil – for deep frying
Tomatoes – 3 medium sizes
Ginger – 1 medium size piece
Cream – ¼ cup
Cumin seed – ¼ tea spoon
Black cardamom (badi elichi) – 1
Clove (Long) – 2
Cinnamon powder – ¼ tea spoon
Sugar – 1 tea spoon
Coriander powder – 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ tea spoon
Garam masala – ½ tea spoon
Red chili powder – ¼ tea spoon
Salt – according to taste
Oil – 1 table spoon
Basic preparation for making Lauki Kofta Curry Recipe
- Peel bottle gourd and grate finely with the help of hand grater or kaddukus. Remove seeds if, it’s hard.
- Squeeze grated lauki and keep its juice aside for further gravy use.
- Now add gram flour, garam masala, red chili powder, salt to the lauki and mix well.
- Give an oval shape and keep aside.
- Make a fine puree of tomatoes and ginger.
Method of making Lauki Kofta Curry Recipe
Step 1: Heat sufficient oil for deep frying kofta. Now carefully drop 2 -3 kofta in oil and keep the gas flame on simmer mode.
Now fry kofta from each side until become golden brown in color. Bring it out and keep aside.
Step 2: In a cooking pan, heat one tablespoon oil and then add cumin seed, black cardamom, clove.
Step 3: Now add tomato puree and sauté well until start become a bit dry.
Step 4: Now add the rest of the spices, including salt and cook for 1 minute. Add cream, sugar and stir well. Cook for one minute and then add 3/4th cup water.
Step 5: When the gravy starts boiling, add fried kofta and cook for 2 more minutes and then turn the gas off.
