Festivals are around the corners and every one of us wants to try something special and different sweets recipe this time. Here in India, Festival means too much involvement in home related activities. We hardly get time for food experiments during these days, so here comes a different and interesting barfi recipe in less than 10 minutes. I have given a twist to pista barfi and added coconut and condensed milk.
The cooking process will hardly take 10 minute and the ingredients are sufficient to make 12 -14 barfi.
Ingredients for making Nariyal Pista Barfi Recipe
Desiccated Coconut Powder (Nariyal ki Burada) – 2 cup
Pistachio (Pista) – 1/3 cups
Condensed Milk- 200ml
Milk- ½ cup
Ghee – 1 Table Spoon
Basic preparation for making Nariyal Pista Barfi Recipe
- Roast pista (Pistachio) in a frying pan on simmer gas flame for approx. 2 minutes. Keep stirring until done.
- Turn the gas off and let Pistachio cool a little.
- Make a coarse powder using hand blender or electric blender. I have used my manual hand blender.
- Bring all the ingredients in the working area.
Method for making Nariyal Pista Barfi Recipe
Step 1: Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Now add ½ cup milk and cook for one minute on simmer gas flame.
Step 2: Add 200 ml condensed milk and stir well, cook for the next one minute.
Step 3: Now add 2 cups of desiccated coconut powder and stirs well. Stir continuously until the mixture start leaving the pan. Cook for two minutes.
Step 4: Now add 3/4th of pista powder and stir well, cook for the next one minute and turn the gas off.
Step 5: Grease a tray or plate with ghee and pour the batter on it.
Now spread the batter on plate while giving a square like shape. Put a butter paper or plastic sheet on the batter and with the help of rolling pin roll approx. 1 cm thick sheet (sprinkle rest of pista powder on top of the batter sheet for more colors).
Step 6: Let the mixture cool at room temperature for ½ hour or more according to temperature and then cut into pieces.
Nariyal Pista Barfi is ready to serve. You can store this tempting coconut Barfi in refrigerator for a week period or more, but trust me you can’t wait for too long. Enjoy this festival season with the richness of coconut and pistachio.

Few useful tips for Nariyal Pista Barfi Recipe
- Bring out the condensed milk from the fridge ½ hour before using.
- You can add ¼ tea spoon cardamom powder for this recipe too.
- I have used milkmaid condense milk in this barfi recipe.
