Ingredients for Quick Okra stir fry recipe
Lady finger (bhindi / okra) – ½ Kg
Sambhar Masala – 1 Table Spoon
Red chilli powder – ½ Tea Spoon
Cumin seed (Jeera) – ½ Tea Spoon
Mustard Seed – ½ Tea Spoon
Salt – according to taste
Oil – 3 table Spoon
Basic preparation of making Quick Okra stir fry recipe
- Wash okra / bhindi and keep in a strainer until becoming dry.
- Now remove the top and tail part and chop lady finger into .5” pieces.
Method of making Quick Bhindi stir fry recipe
Step 1: Heat oil in a wok or non stick pan (Cooking vessel). Now add cumin seed and mustard seed. Fry until starts cracking and turn the gas on simmer mode.
Step 2: Now add sambhar masala and red chilli powder and fry for 10 sec approx. Make sure its not getting burnt. Now add chopped okra / bhindi and stir well.
Step 3: Let this well masala (spices) coated bhindi cook for 10 minutes on simmer gas flame and stir mean while. Now sprinkle salt and stir again. Let it cook for 10 more minutes and turn the gas off.

Few useful tips for Quick Bhindi stir fry recipe
- Make sure lady finger/ bhindi are completely dry before cooking.
- Do not cover the vessel with a lid while cooking the okra fry.
- I have used home made sambhar masala for this recipe. You can use the ready made sambhar masala too.
- Keep the gas flame low throughout the cooking process for best results.
