Veg Fried Rice recipe – step by step presentation of famous Indo Chinese Veg Fried Rice recipe.
Indo Chinese food is my favorite one. Whenever we go out for dinner or lunch the first thing I checked out the Chinese section. Veg Fried rice comes in my preference list most of the time. I have even tried street side veg fried rice too. Fried Rice goes well with Manchurian gravy or any other soup or gravy.
Today I am showing you simple and authentic Indo Chinese fried rice recipe. I have used no spices in this recipe to keep the vegetable flavors alive. You can add extra vegetables according to availability.
Ingredients for Veg Fried Rice recipe
For Cooking Rice
Rice – 1 cup Basmati rice
Water – 2 cup
Oil – 1 Tea Spoon
Salt – ¼ tea spoon
For fried rice
Sweet Corn – ¼ cup
Capsicum – ½
Carrot – ½ medium size
Beetroot – ¼ medium size
Onion – 1
French beans – 10
Soya sauce – 3 Tea Spoon
Tomato Sauce – 2 Tea Spoon
Black pepper powder – ¼ tea Spoon
Vinegar – 1 teaspoon
Oil – 3 Table Spoon
Ginger – a small piece
Salt – according to taste
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour
Basic preparation of Veg Fried Rice recipe
- Finely chop entire vegetables and keep aside.
- Wash rice, two, three times so that all the starch can remove from the rice.
- Soak rice for at least 30 minutes in 1 ½ cups of water.
- Boil sweet corn for two minutes in water. Let it in water until the water gets cool down. Now strain the water and keep sweet corn aside.
- Now transfer this soaked rice, along with water in pressure cooker. Add one teaspoon oil and pressure cook rice for one whistle on high gas flame. Once the whistle came turn the gas off and open the pressure cooker lid by removing the whistle.
Method of making Veg Fried Rice recipe
Step 1: Heat oil in a heavy base pan or kadai. Now add chopped onion and ginger, sauté until becoming soft.
Step 2: Now add boiled sweet corn and finely chopped beans. Add salt and black pepper, stir well and cook for two minutes.
Step 3: Now add chopped carrot and capsicum and stir and cook for the next one minute.
Step 4: Add vinegar, soya sauce and tomato sauce. Mix well and cook for one minute.
Step5: Now add boiled rice and quickly stir well so that rice mixes well with the vegetable mixture. Cook for two minutes, so the flavor of vegetables can easily mix with rice.
Veg Fried Rice is ready. You can serve it plain or with any Indo Chinese gravy. My favorite combination is Manchurian and veg fried rice.
Few useful tips for Veg Fried Rice Recipe
- Chinese food requires finely chop vegetables so finely chop all the vegetables for making perfect veg fried rice.
- You can add finely chopped green chilli and other vegetables like mushroom and cabbage too.
- You can add little spices like coriander powder and red chilli powder for more Indian taste.
