Festival season is around the corner and everyone is so anxious to have lots of sweets. If you want to try a different Barfi recipe, then you are on the right page. Today I am presenting a simple yet delicious Barfi recipe made of Rawa / Suji and Mawa.
Fried suji with ghee and mawa combination is so unique. The best part is this recipe is so easy to make that you surely gonna try this. I have given a twist to traditional mawa / Khoya barfi and the result is in front of you. Light and tasty Rawa Mawa Barfi are become my family and friends favorite one. Ingredients for Rawa Mawa Barfi Recipe
Rawa / Suji (Semolina) – 1 cup
Ghee – ¼ cup
Mawa / Khoya – ½ cup
Sugar – ¼ cup
Badam (Almond) – 8
Elichi (Cardamom) Powder – 2 pinch
Basic preparation of Rawa Mawa Barfi Recipe
- Finely chop almonds.
- Grate Khoya or cut in small pieces.
- If you have elichi piece make a powder of it.
Method of making Rawa Mawa Barfi Recipe
Step 1: Heat oil in a heavy base pan / kadai. Add semolina and fry on simmer gas flame. Keep stirring until becoming golden brown.
Step 2: Bring out semolina on a plate and keep aside.
Step 3: Add chopped mawa / Khoya on the same pan and cook it on simmer gas flame until it starts melting. Keep stirring otherwise it get stick on the base of the pan.
Step 4: Add sugar and turn the gas off. Keep stirring so sugar gets melted properly.
Step 5: Now add fried semolina in this Khoya mixture and turn the gas on. Cook this mixture for two minutes on simmer gas flame. Turn the gas off.
Step 6: Grease a steel plate or tray with ghee and transfer this Barfi mixture on the plate.
Step 7: Spread this mixture with the help of a knife and give a square shape. Keep the thickness approx.5 cm. Now sprinkle chopped almond and press little bit using fingers. Let this Rawa Mawa Barfi mixture for cooling at room temperature for 20 – 30 minutes.
