Sama rice – ½ cup
Milk – ½ liter
Sugar – 4 Table Spoon
Cardamom (Elichi) – 1
Almond (Badam) – 6
Cashew nut (Kaju) – 6
Raisin (Kismis) – 12
Ghee – 1 Table spoon

Basic preparation of Samvat / Samak Rice Kheer Recipe
- Wash sama rice / barnyard millet with fresh water and then soak it in a cup of water for approx 20 minutes.
- Finely chop all the dry fruits.
- Crush Cardamom or you can use ¼ tea spoon cardamom powder.
Method of making Samvat / Samak Rice Kheer Recipe
Step 1: Heat milk and drain water from soaked rice. When, a boil come add soaked sema rice.
Step 2: Cook rice and milk for approx 10 minutes on simmer gas flame and stir in between.
Step 3: Add chopped dry fruits and cardamom powder and mix well. Cook it for next 5 minutes.
Step 4: Add ghee and stir well. Turn the gas off and cover the pan by a lid so that ghee aroma gets properly mixed with ghee.
Samvat Rice Kheer / Sema rice kheer is ready to serve. You can serve samvat rice kheer hot or chilled according to your preference. Garnish with some chopped dry fruits on it.
