Halwa is a traditional Indian sweet dish. Usually Halwa is made from suji (semolina). But this halwa recipe is a little different from suji Halwa. I used Corn flour / Maize Flour for this halwa recipe. The best part of this recipe is a light yellow color and flavor of corn flour. The crunchy dry fruits make this halwa recipe even more special.

Corn Flour (Maize flour) is a rich source of vitamin A, C, E and B (B1, B2 & B6). Corn flour contains good amount of dietary fiber, which prevents constipation. Magnesium and potassium found in corn flour are good in controlling blood pressure. Corn flour is beneficial for health in many ways.

Ingredients for Makki ka Atta ka Halwa / Corn Flour Halwa Recipe
Maize flour (Makki ka Atta) – 1cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Ghee – ½ cup
Cardamom powder – ¼ Table Spoon
Water – 1 ¼ cup
Cashew nuts (Kaju) – 10
Raisin (Kismis) – 10
Almond (Badam) – 10
Basic preparation of Makki ka Atta ka Halwa / Corn Flour Halwa Recipe
- Chop almond and cashew nuts.
- Collect entire halwa recipe ingredients at one place.
Method of Makki ka Atta ka Halwa / Corn Flour Halwa Recipe
Step 1: Heat ghee in a pan. Add Maize flour just after ghee got melted. Sauté the flour until a nice aroma starts coming. Flour also changed its color by the time. The process will take approx 7-8 minutes on low gas flame.
Step 2: Now add chopped almond and cashew nuts. Sauté dry fruits with maize flour for next five minutes.
Step 3: Now add sugar and stir well. Just over one minute, add water and raisin, stir well so that no lumps can occur. Soon flour starts collecting together.
Turn the gas off and serve the Makki ka Atta ka Halwa hot. Garnish with some more dry fruits.

- You can also make this halwa recipe with milk. Use milk instead of water.
- Use the quantity of dry fruits and sugar according to your taste.
- For more flavor add cinnamon powder.
