How to make Sprouted Veg Biryani?
In my last post I shared with you a recipe of Sprout (Fruity Creamy Sprout). Today, I have one more recipe of Sprout. This recipe is a combination of Sprout and Biryani. It is called Sprouted Veg Biryani.
Before I start to tell you the recipe, write down the ingredients. For Sprouted Veg Biryani, you need Rice, Green Gram Sprouts, Onion, Tomato and basic Spices.
I used quantity of ingredients for two to three people. If you have more people take ingredients accordingly. Keep one thing in mind all the ingredients should be proportional. This recipe will take 15 to 20 minutes cooking time. Let’s start cooking Sprouted Veg Biryani.
Ingredients for Sprouted Veg Biryani
Rice- 1 cup
Green Gram Sprouts-1 cup
Ginger- 1 Table Spoon grated
Paneer- 100 grams
Cumin Seed- ½ Table Spoon
Black Pepper – 5
Clove (Laung) – 2
Cinnamon stick- 1 medium
Black Cardamom (Badi Elichi) – 1
Garam Masala – 1 Table Spoon
Salt- According to taste
Ghee/ Oil- 2 Table Spoon and 1 Table Spoon
Water- 1 cup
Method for making Sprouted Veg Biryani
Step 1: Wash Rice properly and drain water well. Now soak Rice in one cup of Water for at least 15 minutes.
Step 2: Now finely chop Onion and Tomato. Also grate Ginger finely. Keep all the veg ingredients aside.
Step 3: Put a Pressure Cooker on flame and pressure cook soaked Rice with the same water for one whistle on medium flame.
Step 4: Meanwhile heat Ghee in a pan and add Cumin seeds, Black Pepper, Clove, Cinnamon stick and Black Cardamom. When its start crackling adds finely chopped Onion and sauté it until turns light brown.
Step 6: When The Pressure Cooker will give a whistle turn the gas off. Bring out the whistle immediately with the help of a cloth. Now add Sprouts mixture into Steamed Rice. Pour one Table spoon Ghee and mix all the ingredients well softly.
Step 7: Now close the lid and again cook it for next 3-4 minutes on simmer gas flame. After that turn the gas off and let Biryani inside the Pressure cooker for steam cooking.
Yours Sprouted Veg Biryani is ready to serve. Garnish it with Fresh Coriander leaves.
Enjoy it with Boondi Raita and crisp Papad.
Few useful tips
1) I prefer using Basmati Rice for this dish. Use an equal amount of Water as Rice.
2) You can take Sprouts of different Pulses for this recipe, like Red Kidney Ben, Soya Bean, and Gram.
3) You can add some Dry Fruits. It will improve the taste and nutrition.
4) Pioneer is optional in this dish, but it will enhance the taste and nutritious value of the Biryani.
5) You can use Soya Bean chunks also.
6) I used minimal spices in this recipe. You can add according your taste.
(*) How to make sprouts?
Soak Green Gram overnight and strain the Water in the morning. Let it keep aside for a few hours. Yours Green Gram Sprouts will be ready.
